Few biotech leaders can claim a hand in as many billion-dollar outcomes as Dr. Sheila Gujrathi. As Chief Medical Officer at Receptos, she helped lead development of Zeposia, the multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis therapy, ahead of the company’s $7.2 billion acquisition by Celgene. She went on to co-found and lead Gossamer Bio, and has since chaired boards behind two more major exits — Turning Point Therapeutics ($4.1B acquisition by Bristol Myers Squibb) and Ventyx Biosciences ($1.2B acquisition by Eli Lilly).

Today she leads Vidya Therapeutics as Founder and Executive Chair, alongside board and leadership roles at Prana Therapies, Lila Biologics, and Janux Therapeutics. An MD and biomedical engineer trained at Northwestern, with residency at Harvard and fellowship at UCSF/Stanford, she’s also the author of The Mirror Effect, a book on growth for the next generation of female leaders, and co-founder of the Biotech CEO Sisterhood.
